On March 31, 2025, the Governor signed House Bill 2343 into law. HB 2343 amends A.R.S. § 12-112.01 regarding the continuing education requirements of Legal Document Preparers (“LDP”). This emergency code proposal is to amend ACJA § 7-208 to accommodate HB 2343, which will take effect September 26, 2025. A.R.S. § 12-112.01 as amended provides that the Supreme Court recognize continuing education credits taken by an LDP for a state agency license renewal requirement.

Pursuant to ACJA § 1-201(E), the Chief Justice may adopt emergency proposals and technical changes in existing administrative code sections by administrative order without prior distribution for comment and action by the Arizona Judicial Council (“AJC”). Because the statutory changes in A.R.S. § 12-112.01 take effect prior to the next AJC meeting, the Chief Justice adopted this emergency code amendment on August 27, 2025 through Administrative Order 2025-162 (attached).

    Comment deadline: October 23, 2025.
